A Single Fruit Tree With Over 40 Types of Fruit Growing On It?

One Tree For ALL Your Fruit Needs!

Utilizing the technique called “chip graphing” Syracuse University Professor Sam Van Aken, has created over a dozen trees that will blossom and give off 40 different types of “stone” fruit or fruits with pits.  It takes the professor several years to chip graph all the different types of trees onto the main “mother” tree.  Once the process is done, a new type of fruit will grow on the mother tree.

Professor Sam Van Aken has been planting the trees all over the United States at museums,  which he sees as a way to spread diversity on a small scale.

Very interesting video.

So would you like to have one in your backyard?
